Witch way to go with build

well... what I was going to do with my studie, was blend a '79 3/4 ton camper special Dodge 440 4 X 4 with the 46 studie pick-up... make something "lower" but not slammed to the ground, build for doing 4 X 4 burn outs at the stoplights... as the price of gas went up, those ideas changed... but...

    Eli... the Transformed Sedan

WOW bummer dude... I was really digging what you were putting down on the ride... nope... sorry... I don't talk like that... really liking what you're doing to your car... hope you heal well... those ankles can be weird to heal completely sometimes... thought I subscribe, so I catch when you...

    visual appeal

How about using the contrast between black & white, butt keeping the lines clean & sharp, & keeping those original cop car colors, but "twisting" it some... like black with white flames, or contrasting striping or even just black & white graffiti ??? something that might be different, but...

BTW... the addition of the "teal" to the car, with a little "shocking" graphics, & I think it looks good how you pictured it...

    The Reeper (rat rod jeep)

I think the bigger Cherokee pick-ups had a straight axle in 2WD... & some of the early ( full sized ) Grand Cherokee's... but for the last couple body styles, they have been a-arm front suspensions

    visual appeal

ya know... I'm pretty new to the "rat rod" thing, but have always liked hot rods, & never liked washing & waxing my ride... today I have a mile of gravel road... so no $10,000 paint jobs in my future... IMO, the "shoebox" is too conservative in lines... I think you need to either paint her up...

    The Reeper (rat rod jeep)

Yup... me too... looking for something I can get driving for few $$$ as I'm looking to rebuild the original motor in my 38 Nash... I have an 80 CJ-5 that I used to compete in, & is worth more in parts than it is as a Jeep these days... plus it's old school, before all the aftermarket suspension...

1st time lowered straight axle install... any help ???

Questions about vintage straight axle install... I'm kinda shopping for a front axle, this would be my 1st build using a straight axle... I came across an axle I like ( maybe the pics were reversed, or backwards ) but it looks like the hook up for the steering arm from the gear box is on the...

still looking for an easy cruiser...

unless I find something I can drive for a year, fix up while I'm driving it, & flip it ( & you guys seem to find all the good ones ;) ) I think I'm going to "hot rod" my old CJ-5... this is the one I built years ago, & is worth more in good parts, than as a Jeep... so ( again, unless I can find...

still looking for an easy cruiser...

had a meeting in Mankato yesterday, & my GPS took me right past Unique Auto ( a car dealership that sells almost exclusively, "collector" cars... I swung through on the way home, & told them I was wanting to down my Nash for a year or so, & was looking for something in the $3,000 ish range...

still looking for an easy cruiser...

I can certainly appreciate the straight six 3 speed driver recommendation... like I said... love those luxury yachts, but all the power stuff to keep working is a night mare ( I hate having to open the door at the McD's drive thru, because the drivers door window doesn't go down ) & honestly...

still looking for an easy cruiser...

BOB... I'd want to keep same corp...so a Ranger frame would be better :D starting price was $1,800.00 which I'd probably wait until just about snow flyin, & try & get them down quite a bit more... personally think it's too much for not even knowing if the motor is permanently stuck... a car...

still looking for an easy cruiser...

while I rebuild the original motor in my Nash... found a 1961 Lincoln Continental sedan the other day... odo shows 47,000 miles ( might be 147,000 ) but the carpet looks too nice, & the interior looks dried out ( red leather ) not worn out, so maybe 47,000 ??? car lot pulled it out of an old...

Field Of Dreams: 500 Vehicle Barn Find Auction

all I can say is OMG !!! would love one of those 59 4 door sedans... that's the car my mom learned to drive in, it was an old clunker, & didn't have a muffler, & was loud... I was like 11 years old, & it's the 1st car I ever lusted after... I was so... ****ed when my dad sold it... even at 11...

is there a big Rat / Rod cruise the next couple weeks ???

Awesome pics... I think 3 of those pictured were at the Northfield MN kick off show ( for sure the wood camper truck with the cane poles on the side, & the one with the 57 chevy panels made into the pick-up )... also the one with the Ontario Canada plates you didn't happen to get a peek under...

is there a big Rat / Rod cruise the next couple weeks ???

would be interested in seeing the pics... my buddy had taken 2 weeks vacation & was trying to get out by 4:00 & got stuck working later... so by the time we got to Northfield, it was almost dark... by the time I got parked & set up for the show, it was really too dark for pictures...
