12v Conversion from 6v Positive ground (1950 Mercury)

Anyone ever do a 12v conversion on a 1950 Mercury? Or at least a conversion on a 6v positive ground car? I bought a wiring harness but not sure where to start. I’ve tried looking up some info but can’t find anything. I know I need to get 6v to 12v converters for the gauges, but how does...

Hooking Speedometer to 2003 GT 5 speed

I haven't been on here because of the storm, thanks for the replies, I appreciate the info. I believe it is an electronic speedometer and the speed sensor is plugged into the transmission already, but I don't have the harness or speedometer to go with it. I figure the harness would be wrapped up...

it was more like her not believing me that I park them in the garage. So she asked and I was honest with her saying since i was restoring them I had to use part of the garage for tools and space to work, so I pull one out sometimes to work. I have a portable garage as well that I keep the car...

I just got off the phone with Hagerty and they are ridiculous with their requests for a million pictures of every square inch of your cars and property, so I told them to just cancel my request. Looks like I will have to keep looking for another company.

Hooking Speedometer to 2003 GT 5 speed

My 30 Ford has a 2003 Mustang GT 5 speed in it….no speedometer….any ideas how to hook one up? I do see there is a plug on the side of the transmission, so I am thinking this might be what I need to plug into? I’ve never had a broken speedometer in any car I’ve owned, so I don’t know where to...

Probably....the kid I bought it from drove it around everywhere almost as a daily driver. I just picked it up from him last weekend. I live in Manchester. I did go to this past swap meet, first time I've ever gone. that place is huge, didn't even get to the last 2 rows before it was closing and...

exactly! i have gotten that a lot! most of them time is what over swapping engines out from the original, last one was over wanting to do a 12v conversion as I've never done one before and wanted to know how a 6v positive ground car was done. That would be my Mercury, and considering how many...

thanks! The plymouth is currently black, the red is how i got it. I didn't like it too much, reminded me of a firetruck. I banged out some of the roof dents, sanded it and got rid of most of the runs in the paint too.

Hey guys, my name is Aaron from Connecticut. I’ve been into hot rods since I was a teenager. Each car I buy seems to get older and older. I currently own a 50 Merc, 40 Plymouth Delivery and most recently picked up a 30 Ford pickup rat rod. I’ve always been more into the imperfect and beat up...

    Insurance

I have my 1940 insured through my normal carrier for a little over $300 a year which at first was fine, but I want to add more cars on now that I picked up a “1936” Ford and it’s getting pricey per month…plus they are defaulted at being worth $500 each minus deductible = I get exactly nothing...
