Leaf Springs on an A frame ?

Thanks for all the info. I was looking at the frame and there are a couple options and I will even look at the yard for some short coil-overs instead of the leafs. I already stretched the frame for the engine and am reversing the firewall so right now I will keep my eyes open. I went through a...

    292 l6

Well the dipstick came in and I am still working on the other ( water pump pulley) but this has been a learning experence. As I said before I just wanted something different and it added a lot more to the build as far as cost. I hope the wow factor comes through. All the suggestions have helped...

    292 l6

L6 The only other thing was the lower end is already assembled so it would be too late to start welding on the block. At one shop I worked at 35 years ago I did the cast repair and we always put the parts in an over to preheat. I don't think I would want to disassamble the motor at this point...

    292 l6

    292 l6

L6 Well I tried all the web sites as suggested to no avail. I did find a dipstick and tube for $25 plus shipping so it wasn't a waste of an afternoon. I will post on the want ads here maybe I will get lucky! The classic truck and brothers only have parts for V-8 and the rest have internal...

    292 l6

L6 Well I measured the block and the opening for the tube is 0.350" so if anyone can measure there block tubes it may narrow it down. Thanks for any help.

    292 l6

L6 Does anybody know the diameter of a SBC dipstick tube? There is always a possibility of interchange. I am going to measure the hole in the block later today . As far as brackets it can't be that hard. Thanks and I will start posting on the truck sites for the timing cover. Just so some will...

    292 l6

L6 The toughest seems to be the dipstick tube. Cliffords does not list a timing cover. I have been on EBAY and never see alt brackets and where I live there is no need for AC.

    292 l6

Well I have a 292 L6 4.8 Chevy motor that the bottom is done 0.040 LP gas pistons for more compression. The head has been decked 0.020 BBC valves .550 lift springs and lump ports installed. I will be ordering ARP head studs and then the assembly begins. What I have not been able to do is find...

    53 buick drivetrain swap?

Sure is a nice looking body. So how are the floors? I don't see many early 50's cars around here way too much rust. The availability of SBC beaters are slim here too.
