    51 chevy Styleline

Gland to see you are still working on your car. Your work is awesome. Did you re- finish the steering wheel before you painted it. If you had any, how did you repair the cracks?

    No VIN Numbers

I am going to go over the frame again hoping to find something. I guess I could by another car to get the frame but that seems kind of a rough road to go as I don't see these cars that often. Thanks just the same for your help.

    No VIN Numbers

I have a problem with a 1949 Pontiac 2 door fastback I bought about 10 years ago with a bill of sale. I pulled it out of a blackberry thicket and gave the property owner 200 bux, and was tickled.:D I went to the DMV to see what I needed to do about a title. I couldn't find a VIN anywhere on...

    couldn't resist

Must be some kind of psychological illness, to not let anybody else get a "good deal". I'm ate up with the disease. Easier to quit smoking. Went into remission for a while. Even after my wife's constant therapeutic vigil, I still have an occasional re-laps;)

    Roll it on it's side.

I like it. I am currently working on cab corners and could get better access with the cab on tubes. I have a couple of old fireproof blankets I'll toss over the tubes to prevent a leak[;) Mattresses and couch cushions are easy to get and hard to store or get rid of. I can use the tubes for...

    door handle removal too

OK, I recently needed to remove a the escutcheons and handles from a door to get to the window crank assembly. I've used screw drivers in the past and gotten by. Well I had a couple of old caulking guns laying around and *******ized one to make a removal tool. I simply snipped the end of the...

Not to jack the thread, but one of the biggest swap meets on the west coast is also having a circus going on at the same time. Knocking out 700 (a wag) vender spots. Portland has had this for over 40 years. bringing People from all over the world that spend lots of money. They don't come to to...

parting out cars. what to save for future projects?

I also was blessed to be given a regal of the same vintage. I sold the doors to a lowrider dude, kept the stainless trim and the frame for a future project. 49 Coronet suspension replacement

It depends on how much money you have and how much work you are up to. I think if it was my ride, knowing my budget and abilities, I'd do a sub-frame graft. Sub frames can be had pretty reasonably around here. Or even consider a S10 frame swap is inexpensive.

    Eastwood Bead Roller

The roller in the picture isn't my work. It belongs to HAMBer NealinCa. He wrote a tech article on how he turned a sow's ear into a silk purse. I always have been planning on doing something along the same lines, and bookmarked the tech. I am not that gifted. Sorry, I should have mentioned in my...
