1949 Ford chopped,lowered and shortened

I started with a 1949 Ford F2 and a 1980 Chevrolet longbed truck.I scraped everything but the chassis out of the Chevy.I shortened the Chevy frame. Then I put the Ford cab on the Chevy frame.Next I shortened the Ford bed 27 inches. I chopped 4 inches out of the top.I painted the wide whites.This is where I am now on this build.

I have alot more old chevy's left in the woods.I'm building this for a customer.He wanted a Ford so I found him one. This same customer wants me to build a 1947 Dodge next.

What's the new wheelbase length? The truck has a neat look to it. [P

The wheelbase is 103 inches axle to axle.

Very cool look! What have you been using to paint the white walls? How well has it been holding up on your other trucks?

I've painted 12 tires sofar with Krylon Fusion satin white paint.I have more than 2000 miles on the set on my old wrecker that I drive daily that have held up really well.The tires on the front have not started cracking at all.The rear tires have a little.They are still the same color as the day I painted them.I would recommend trying the paint.I found out that you must put the tires on the wheels before you paint them.The paint will crack when you mount the tire .
