Yes we are good friends. Last week I took a road trip over just to hang out for what an hour? ( ok I was really going to Oklahoma and he was just 20 miles out of my way)

Well I sat the body on it today for a test fit.....

The rear cab/frame mounts will work fine, the front needs a 2x4 off the top of the frame, the front, not sure but needs trimmed a little

And the leaves 99 inches of frame on the back, the 60s IH step side bed I have is 105.... So it will work out good to..... Just need to get it to the shop.

And then I decided ( since I had the help) to try dropping in the 7.3.... It is close and does not look to hard to make fit.

This was the big hang up why it was twisted funny

Oh man the pic from the front with the body on looks tough!!!! I vision a nice push bumper on there with a big old winch!!!

Acctually I think I'm going to try keeping the original look. Where the fenders stop and the frame hangs out the tin ontop of the bumper covers up rather well.

Man does that look cool sitting on that frame, and the motor mounts look like you need a couple plates and thats it!

Hi Tude

Never been a big 4WD (jacked up high) fan but not really a big fan of draggin in the dirt either....your project is the best of both worlds...room to work on it on the underside (without having to jack it up much)...plenty of newer parts thrown in so it is way more practical than the original truck has....looks way too cool...maybe you can start a trend of highboy rat rods again!!!

Well the main reasons for the 4wd is-
1 I have quite a few laying around
2 around here I need it ( we farm)
3 why the hell not?

Today I found a set of lockout hubs in my stock pile, now to dig up a 205 t-case.... And when I got to the shop to begin the motor mounts today I got a call from a guy wanting my imperial, I now have a 3rd 48/49 in my possession....[cl [ no clue what will happen with it yet.

It's rough but it's Probibly better of the three. But I haven't tore into it yet to tell.
