I say keep all the power stuff!!! As a matter of fact I was going to try and find a cheap doner car and take all the power stuff and put it on mine!!! So I have to ask....... is it going to have keyless entry?! LOL

So the girlfriend went with you to pick it up, but I don't see her helping in any of the pictures..... Or was her help the camera operator? LOL in any case, any girl that lets you go do that stuff all the time and even goes with you to "help" is a keeper. I knew I was in love when for our first Christmas together she got me a gift certificate to Jegs.

I was wondering the same thing Doc., surely he isn't
thinking of trying to put that thing in that trunk?
Little grease, it might go in? ha ha ha
Keep up the good work!![cl[cl

Yea, she was helping a lot actually, she just was taking pictures cause I asked her to, because when I have things to get done, I rarely want to stop to document what I'm doing...

Yea, it would definitely NOT fit in that trunk... heh heh... This motor is a real beast...

I don't know yet if the electronics are there on the donor van for keyless entry, I have to get into the wiring and see, if its there, I might just add it... but not a top priority...

I think that's a great candid shot. Kinda begs a caption like, "That's strange.... it looked good on paper..."

That motor is a beast. I'm surprised to see how W I D E it is considering its displacement. Anyhow, keep up the good work and thank your GF for the pics!

Lol! I was thinking the same thing about the trunk shot. Those motors are wide due to the overhead cam. Looks like you weren't kidding about the heat there! looks like you are losing some pounds. [P

Heh... yea it was hot here for a bit, today is more comfortable, in the low 80s...

I'll probably be a bit quiet, just going to poke around with some assembly maybe of the front axle and work on the electrical harness, as I have my daughter for a couple weeks, and I don't work on the truck much if at all when she is here. When she gets a little older she will be involved in working on cars I'm sure, when I picked her up, she brought with her a 64 mustang toy car she asked her mom to buy her... looks like the nut is not going to fall far from the tree =)

Lord those motors look huge!!!!

Look even bigger out of the engine bay.....Doc..funny I was thinking the same thing.....LMAO...DirtyRat I've got a shoe horn or two lying around I can let you borrow.....:D

what type exhaust are you going to use?that engine will be cool in the old truck, the engine bay will be full.

Going to build some custom headers, and have some blockoff plates as well so I can run into the normal cats, 2 into 1, single back to a 2 out muffler, and the exhaust out of the 57 pontiac bumper... Probably run a magnaflow mufler for an F150 or something...

I only need it to be loud here and there with open pipes, but most times I just want that nice V8 rumble... 350ft-lb of stock power.... enough until I get it supercharged... heh heh

Should sound great....

still can't get over how big that motor is.....I've got the 5.4 in my F150....looks fairly big in the engine bay but wow....really big out of it....

Have you solved your fuel storage problem?
I have these... some of them have never been used. The first and last pictures are used and have some hardware/fittings. We'll be scrapping them so... They were left behind by a tenant.

I took a few more pictures... Two of the tanks are in the back of my truck headed home. The boss has a scrap pickup scheduled for Monday. The box contains a big fitting as well as the fuel level sensor.

Definitely a competitors tank(but I think Roush also uses tanks from this manufacturer), but I will let you know what I find out. Thanks so much for contacting me on the tanks!

I'll be on vacation til the weekend, so not much to report, I did score a Toyota steering box from fee-bay. $170 shipped is not too bad considering most are up for $250 and up on ebay...

Hopefully I can sort out the ends of the lines and what not, and a pitman arm which I'll probably just make... that and sorting out the spline on the box and adapt it if necessary to the ford E-250 column...

Also found a set of rear tires I hope to pickup when I get back, if they are not sold...
