We made it out to the garage again today, my dad finished cleaning up the rear axle and I made the other nose piece for the frame. After that we set the chassis under the car and centered it all up and tack welded two different size tubing to hold it in place but still let us remove it if we want.

So of course we had to roll it outside to get a look.

Thanks for all the kind words, that just motivates you more. Getting ready to head back over there now

I love the looks of your ride...that cutting and fitting on those front frame rails really give it a good look.

Whats up with the yard tho....where is all the snow???

Thanks for posting your progress.

Thanks mike, we are in va and don't tend to get a whole lot of snow in our area. We are not in the mountains.

We made it out to the garage today, had to work on another car for a bit but about mid day got going on the coupe. Worked out perfect because we were waiting on the engine mounts to arrives and the came in about 1. So we took the engine and got it all centered and setup.

Here we took the new mount plates and traced them onto cardboard then cut to the appropriate size.

Then we marked the cut outs on our supplied tabs as seen here, the one on the frame rail

And finally tacked them in

Tomorrow we start with the transmission mount

Well today we had to make the transmission crossmember, it needed to be a drop down style crossmember and we do not have a tubing bender so we had to make do. We took an original mount that came with his chassis and modified it. Here are a few pics

We had to narrow it down and repair the rusted area, we also took flat plate and cut halfway through to make gussets for our transmission mount to sit on. All in all it turned out great and works.

Then we were able to set the car down with the weight of the engine and transmission.

We have been working on the rear suspension lately, last weekend we got the brackets for the four link tacked in and this weekend we got the watts link mounted. After getting the watts in we cycled the suspension to check for binding and all seems good. Also took a pair of coilovers that came with another project and used them for setup. Spring rate is way to soft on them.

Thanks 31chevrod. Ok we have been putting in the time but just haven't posted much lately. Last weekend we made a radiator mount and framework for the grill to attach to. We also had to extend the hood about a half inch because of where we mounted the radiator. Today we mounted the under floor master cylinder and reworked thee brake pedal to work like we needed it. We also made headlight mounts.

Here are some pics
Making template for hood, have to take a pic of the end result can't find it

Headlights are just sitting on and not bolted so one may look higher then the other but they have adjustment

We have also got the steering box in and a old column in for mockup. He should be ordering the column this week and then it will be floor time.

nice....I like the way this is heading. jw on the hood,[dr would it be easier to add the metal to the back of the hood then the front of the hood???

We thought about the back but then we would have to bead roll two body lines in and I don't have the dies for one so the front worked better.

We have done quite a bit since last posted, lost some pics on a phone update. We have the headlights fully mounted, front shock mounts made, tailights installed and yesterday we built the firewall.
