Hey I figured maybe you could answer this-

I have a Dana 60F with a stripped upper kingpin... The threads in the housing is stripped. Is there a fix or is the housing junk?

Not sure exactly what configuration you have but I have fixed a couple. One of my favorite tricks is to just tap them out to the next larger size metric bolt.

It's a 92- dodge, and the Dana is the 4500lb front axle setup.... I honestly never seen this one before... what causes it to strip the threads? I don't think re-threading is gonna work here.

You can weld a new end in the axle tube, and save the rest, or start over. I have also seen some welding shut and drilling out the hole and re threading it. A junk yard front axle may be as good a fix. Your old axle is still worth something.

Is it the 4 bolts that hold the ball joint in? Does the steering arm bolt to it also? Sometimes those work loose because of the extra stress of the steering arm. Of course big tires and off roading will stress them more. Or shimmy.
I have also fixed those by using grade 8 studs so you can use all the threads. Loctite them in, much stronger than just using the cap screws.

No it is the actual upper threaded kingpin hole on the rear housing itself...

I have a spare in stock.... just questioning if a fix was out there before tearing it out.

Oh, thread in ball joint. I was thinking the kind that had 4 cap screws holding them in. Can't help you there, unless you weld the ball joint in and that would be a last ditch effort

it's NOT a balljoint...... Its a 4wd Kingpin.
