I'm building a 50 Chevy bobber pickup . It will be fenderless and the wheel base shorened .

My plan is to build a 2x4 chassis when funds allow . Meanwhile to get it on the road , I'm going to use the original frame until the new frame is ready . Would it be cheaper ( on fixed income ) to use coil srings from a Firebird/Camero to susspend the Firebird rear end or use coil overs ?

Drive train details : 250 Chevy inline 6 cyl. , 700r4 transmission and a 89 Firebird rear end .

Thx ,
Gonzo

You're most likely going to need lighter springs than what's in a vehicle that heavy.
Coils or coilovers take up less space when using a shortened chassis.
My vote would be for coils.
