I just like the V-Twin motor because they flat look sweet!!!

I've seen a few Harley powered cars before, I always thought they'd look better if the engine was turned 90 degrees so the carb faced forward and the exhaust pipes go out either side of the body, mount to an S10 5 speed....

Made progress on the doors today, framed and hinged both. I was going to use 1" round on the tops but changed to 1" square, it mates up better to the quarters but required a re-work of the ends of the cowl. The hinges are SS weld on cabinet hinges I got from a welding shop.

Got the door skins welded on and latches installed. Made the front door gap a little wider so they don't pinch if the body flexes, typical roadster problem..

Looks sweet man! Don't know what else to say....your work gives me the itch to get out and work on my junk though!

Thanks guys, funny thing is I don't even play golf...
Started on the grille shell today. Working from a cardboard pattern I made a front side and rear side flange and tacked them together in a supporting framework. The flanges are made from pieces sliced from 1" square tubing. Then I started on putting on some of the 'easy' sheet metal pieces, the compound curve corner pieces will be more work. The 32'ish shape is beginning to emerge...

Finished up the grille shell and made a couple 'horns' welded to the front of the frame to mount it, the headlights will also mount off them - yet to figure that one out. Made and installed one side bar, the hood sides and top will attach to them.

Made the other grille side support and created the mounting bar for the Dietz style headlights, it mounts off of the lower grille support bars.

Any more pics of building the grill?

Not really, I sorta just went from starting it to finished, didn't take pics of all the rough nasty welds before the sanding.

Made the grille from 3/16" SS rod, bars welded to a rim piece of 3/16" and bolted to the back side of the shell. Made the hood sides and almost finished installing them, rolled a bead on the bottom edge for stiffening and to follow the rocker shape

Zz do you have a luver press? It would look sweet with hood sides and trunk done with them.

No, I'd want to put holes in everything if I did :D

Made the hood today, rolled it over a welding cylinder, pipe, my knee and lots of grunting. Needs a little tweaking but its basically done. I made the hood and sides from 18ga. that I bought for work on the Packard - hard to believe I went through two 4' x 10' sheets of 20ga. building the rest of the body and only have scraps left.

I really am impressed with this build! How do you get all of your proportions so correct?

I just build what looks right to me. Doing a scale drawing first helps, I also do a full scale profile drawing on the garage floor first to figure out where everything goes and to establish dimensions.

Made the window posts, took a couple tries to get what I wanted. Making the first one was fairly easy, making the other side to match - not so much .
They attach with 2 bolts on each side, I welded 1/8" reinforcing plates on the underside. Window frame will be made from 1/2" square tube and will attach inside the posts - somehow...
Not going for a hard chop look on the top, don't need the sore neck... once the window frame is in and the top made, it won't look so tall.
