ok here's you a question that i have not found a answer for. the first half year of 70 used the 69 body. in 70 trans am racing upped the cid to 400 from 305. did the first half of 70 have z28's? if they did did they have the lt1 350?

The red Camaro is a 71-72. The 70 1/2 had a shorter spoiler.

That might be something from South America? After a production line finished for in the USA, the dies would often be shipped elsewhere.

The SCCA never changed the cubic inch limit for Trans-Am cars, it was always 5liter maximum.

up to the 69 season you could do anything to the motor to enlarge it to 305ci, but you could not use a larger engine and de-stroke it.

for the 1970 season they changed the rule and any size engine could be rebuilt to an under 5 liter (305ci) displacement.

thus allowing competitors based on the 400ci Firebird TA, 350ci Camaro Z28, 360ci Cuda and Challenger, and 360ci Javelins to compete without having to build special under 5.0L engines to homogulate the cars into the class.

nice! but i prefer one older cause i like the 72's tail lights better, oh and a different color. my 72 was sparkling burgundy.

That's a nice car but , I owned a 72 Javelin, it set on a 4x4 frame , I never got to drive it I bought it then sold it ,, My Dad and brother had a 68 AMX with the 390 in it and two 68 Javelins, I think one had a 243 or 245 ? maybe ? and the other had the 390 in it ,, I like the 68 69 , 70 body style better . Just don't like the front fenders .. ( that 390 has a gas petal forever) I think they run like the 327s did ..just more power
