This is me in the summer of 2010. I am in the yellow Dodge Neon. Oldest guy on the track (49 then) in this class at least. I wasnt too keen at my age to switch from dirt to asphalt but I am hooked now (they paved the track in 2009). Nothing like the sights and sounds on a paved track. I just gotta figure out how to keep the right front tire from coming apart.

Slant 6 powered dragster. Patterned after early to mid-1950's dragsters.

I would like to comment after each member's post, but that would be overkill. So I'll just say, I love this thread and am impressed with the race cars members have had in the past and have currently. Keep 'em coming!

Here are some pics of my junk ;) - the dragster, the Grenade and my daughters junior dragster.

The other daughters dragster. The best we got out of it was a 8.00 at 79.9 MPH never got to the 7s or broke 80 MPH but we were oh so close. This was 14 years ago also.

The 34 coupe in my avatar. 468 BBC, 400 turbo, 9 in rear w/ 456 gears. It ran 9.90 --133.
scan0002.jpg

51 Ford f1, 500 Cadillac, 350 turbo, 9 in rear w/ 3.50 gears ran 11.76--114

Fuzz, Did the 9.90 car handle well? Was it possible to get out of shape? Did you become comfortable with that e.t. and speed? You still have the F1, right?

Here's a couple more. The 40 Coupe, wish I still had that one, Powered by 455 Pontiac ran 10.90 at 121..
The 69 Pontiac Firebird ran another 455 Pontiac and 11.50s.
The Chevy Love truck was powered by 355 SBC and powerglide. It ran 11.40s and I won a track championship at New London Dragway in 1998, which was a 1/8 miles track< I think the ets were around 7.40
I scanned these pics and somehow the firebird got cut off..

Bob...the 34 ran straight as a string never got out of shape. It was a ladder bar car. Solid front axle with coil overs and a rack and pinion. I got used to the speed and only bracket raced the car where you have to keep an eye on the other guy and hit the brakes to keep from runnin out u know. Had Mark Williams brakes and those babies worked great.
I traded the F1 for the Harley I have now and it is for sale. Need the cash!!.:D
