Rear Suspension progress

So I pretty much got the rear suspension all fabbed up and tacked together. I surprised myself again, as it actually seems square and level. 4-link was a good call, articulates very well. According to my calcs, the springs will compress 3-4 inches under load, so the panhard will be level with the ground and I'll have about the ride height I want in the back.

Got a full roller now. Put the body over the frame to get a rough idea of how its going to look. Picture 5" larger tires in the rear and a ford blue motor sitting in the blank space....

Looks like you're coming along nicely, brings back memories of the good old days (last year). That's a big step you got done now, pretty exciting seeing it like that isn't it.

Sean

yeah i'm getting really psyched to get it up and running. Can't wait to order up the tall & skinny whitewalls. That will help the look alot. It could really use a 3" chop, but not sure if my tall arse will fit in there with that.

I already sold the rest to a guy who restores Model As. It wasn't in good shape- very rusty frame, engine locked up, etc.

Motor mock-up

Got the engine & tranny out of the F150 with much brute force & ignorance, plus a sawsall (thanks Tripper). I just have it sitting in the frame but thats about where I want it. Sorry pics are dark!

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I'm getting a little more obsessed with this project every day. I might as well quit my job b/c I'm getting very little done besides sketching designs for various parts and ordering stuff online!

motor & trans mounts

Got the motor and trans mounts tacked in. Now I can finally see how the front will sit with the weight of the engine on it. Low, but not too low to get in and out of the local watering holes.

29 ford

No, I really haven't figured out how to do that. I built shock mounts yesterday. Used f100 truck mounts.

More pics...

Tonight's progress: Put the body over the frame, made some engine and burnout sounds. Now I get to figure out how to mount the body!
