Depends on a lot of factors such as type of frame, type of front suspension, how well engineered your installation is, etc.

Cross steering is more modern but it has a tendency to push the front axle to the left and right as it exerts pressure. If the frame isn't strong enough to wishstand this movement, or if you aren't running a panhard bar to limit movement, this can be pretty significant.

Traditional steering like using an F100 steering box in a rod also has to be set up properly so you don't get bump steer. The draglink and wishbone must move in pretty much the same arc so that when the wheel goes up and down it doesn't in effect steer the car left and right.

I have only used traditional steering on everything because I lean toward old timey hot rods, but I have nothing at all against cross steering and will probably use it in some rod some day.
