Always thought it was a shame there wasn't a place to discuss & post Tradition Hot Rods without all the grief so it just came to me... why not have a section for it... I mean after all we have a Muscle Car section! What say ye?!?

My 1 cents. (I'm feeling a little cheap tonight).
As soon as you add the word"Traditional" you run into problems. What tradition? Whose tradition? Traditon from what era? Tradtion from what part of the country?.......
Given the wide variety of builds that are already on here-Straight up Rats-Full blown customs-super builds and ever thing else in between I don't think that anybody will be kicked off for talking about some "Old School Hot Rods" I would just leave out the word Traditional. But then it wouldn't be a Traditional Hot Rod section would it. :)
Torchie.

I'm pretty sure this is most of us guy's favorite forum to hang out at. That being said, lots of the stuff that falls under the "ratrod" category is just plain goofy. Lots of our guys have some darn nice hotrods.

Mr Tripper, you've always kept things under control so far so I don't see why not! I have faith in the S/V!

I'm all for it. I have a hard time comprehending the "traditional" term tho.
It seems a lot of people that say they have a traditional hot rod are dragging a full blown custom around on a trailer.

As long as it doesn't get real hammy with what "traditional" really means...and saying that, what definition is going to be followed? I'm thinking we have quite a few traditional builds going at all times around here and most of us look at the posts that appear here without regard to what anybody calls it in the end. I'm a truck guy and I don't follow "car" builds as closely as "truck" builds but I do still check in to see the talent and tricks exhibited by the builders here. I'm sure we'll still look at what we want to even with a new section. I think the members of this forum get along well....lots of talent in all directions and I'm glad to a part of it.

i tell people mine is modeled after a traditional 40s rod
i dunno if that is accurate or not?
i dont have 10s of thousands of dollars to throw at period correct engine carb tires yadda yadda

eventually period correct turns into a who has the most money contest.
those old parts are EXPENSIVE.
hell i cant even afford cokers
