trying to hook up tach

i know i admit it stupid is as stupid does,got tach trying to hook up,so i know hook up power,hook up ground,hook up light,but where do i hook up to the dist at,its a 350 chevy,im used to a ford with a seperate coil,where and what do i hook up to on the distributor. thanks[cl[P

Tach spade connection on a HEI distributor or negative wire on an ignition coil for a standard ignition.

If it's a standard GM HEI distributor, look closely at the side of the cap where the wires are connected. You should see this (see below photo).connect your tach lead to the corrosponding connector under the area marked "TACH".

ive always run it on the negative of the coil with no problems.
