I needed a bead roller to do the firewall and floor pans. I've used Eastwood in the past and I've gotten good (not great) products from them. Like most of us here I don't have $500 - $1000 for a high end bead roller that I'm not going to use that much. I ordered and got the bead roller from Eastwood. Shipping was fast, but that about the best thing I've got to say about it.
I know these are made in China and that's why they are so cheap, but if Eastwood is going to put their name on it they should do some sort of quality control.
First and biggest thing that I noticed is that the gear mesh is extremlly loose. (see photo). Next thing I noticed is that all most every bolt was hand tighten at best. Next the bolt that tighten the dies on the sheet metal has very loose threads...almost like the wrong tap was used...same goes for the bolt that tightens the handle to shaft. Finally it looks like someone chewed it up and spat it out...not a new looking tool..
Needless to say I'm not happy and will be on the phone with Eastwood tomorrow. I didn't use it this weekend just incase they have me send it back.
I'll let you know the outcome.
