    1934 Chevrolet 4dr sedan build

Hey there Maximo, Thanks for the interest. Yeah, I am still with you guys. Unfortunately, due to plenty personal issue during, which was for me a very crap year, there has been absolutely no progress on this build. I hope to start getting going again in 2009 and make the most of 2009. And...

    1934 Chevrolet 4dr sedan build

Thanks Gastrick. You know, I haven't really thought about it that way but yes, they probably will. There are plenty places that can modify mag wheels but unfortunately only a few known good ones. Steel rim widening is a different story all together. There's only one place we all know off which...

    1934 Chevrolet 4dr sedan build

Widened rear wheels I have now had the rear wheels widened from 5" to 8". This pic is just to show the difference between one of the widened rims and a stock rim. Now I need to send them for powder-coating, most probably red.

How we built a fan shroud

The radiator in my '53 came from the Jaguar parts car I had some time ago. I think the max size fan that would fit on it is about a 16" but due to the 350 motor not sitting right against the firewall and the motor having a long water-pump, there wasn't enough space for a single fan in the middle...

That should look quite cool with slammed suspension.

    I got rear ended

It's illegal here in South Africa too but everybody does it as much as speeding. Even though the fines are pretty stiff people just don't seem to care. That's why I got me a GPS with built in Bluetooth as it then acts as a hand-free unit also. Glad you guys are OK!

    'Hamb' questions?

I have found it best to search the forums via Google (oviously limiting your search to the specific site). You more often than not find what you're looking for.

    'Hamb' questions?

A better way is via Google using this search string as the HAMB's search engine is quite crappy: 1950 ford site:http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/

    fresh thinking photos

In my mind the fact that the rear clip was left wide gives it that extra character. Fresh thinking? Yes. Fugly? No. I do however agree that there's no nice flow between the cab and the rear clip. Maybe the forward edges can have a subtle taper towards the cab?

Ford front hub inner bearing seals?

Feedback: I managed to find a local equivalent but the shop can only have it in on Monday but that's cool. At least they could help. Will report back with the make and part # for your reference when I have it.

Ford front hub inner bearing seals?

Thanks Don. I asked the same question on another forumn too and got the following info there: According to the International Seal Interchange book 48-1190 crosses to:C/R-15730,15735; National-40751,5796; and Victor-49187. It is ISI group 61611, 1.563" ID, 2.686" OD, .375" wide. It seems I...

Ford front hub inner bearing seals?

When I stripped the brakes and drums off of my '38 Ford front axle I ekpt everything. Now I can't find any evidence off or remmber taking out any inner seals from the drum's hubs. Did they actually have seals? From my measurements the shaft is about 1.5" diameter where the seals should sit...

    1934 Chevrolet 4dr sedan build

Thanks guys! Well Gastrick, that's what we have to do here so often. Improvise. Importing a brake conversion kit from the States is totally out of the question. Not just because of price and exchange rates (which is going for a loop now) but also the shipping cost which is what kills such...

    1934 Chevrolet 4dr sedan build

Front hubs and rear spacers I finally managed to get to the machine shop to pick up my new front hubs and rear spacers and I must add they came out very nice. The front hubs will allow me to convert to disc brakes using the stock wheel bearings as I had the internal dimensions machined...
