Made a grill today, took about 4 hours of steady work, I should've taken some pictures of the process. I just can't buy one for $300+shipping US for one that might not fit. With exchange that's about $500 Canadian by the time I get it:eek:.

That thing looks great. What did you use for material? Also for the straps that go across.

Thanks,

35- I used 1/2" x .125 steel all around, I wanted thinner but they didn't have any. Would have been easier to form.

Thanks again guys and congrats on the trophy's Gastrick.

I thought I'd better give a little update so ya know I'm not slackin' too much:D, although I did take a little break, was gettin a little burnt out.

Trying my hand at seat covers being that I'm too stubborn to buy them. I used some of those kneeling pads from HF ($5 each), a chunk of leather, and some floor underlay from HD. Shaped it all up, covered it with the underlay (overlay????:D) to smooth it out, and started putting the leather on. I tacked it down and got on the internet to learn how to stitch.

I stitched the seam between the two pads and then starting the lacing, man it takes a long time. You have to go along and punch out the holes and then go back and lace, I got 9 hours into these from the start already. I think these will have to be done in front of the TV cause I want to go all the way around the perimeter.

Lookin good man! Its always a sweet sound to hear a engine first start. Aah and the smell off hot fresh paint and and burnt fuel. Mmmm.:D Keep up the good work, thanks for sharin the vid.

Thanks again, today was busy. I got some more stitching done, hooked up my e-brake cables, mounted the driveshaft ($250 including u-joints), and got my roof all in. Also got the steering wheel mounted, horn hooked up, and cleaned up under the dash a little bit.

I have to work for a few days but then have three weeks off so I want to try and get it finished up for inspection.

Thanks again, after seeing roddguy1's thread I'm kind of embarresed:confused:sp. to post. I think I got the last big hurdle done today, replacing all the inner valve springs on my AFR heads. I had to remove them for break-in and then put them all back.

Getting a ton of little clean-ups done, got the headers painted and the baffels in, not much quieter but more throatier at higher RPM, I like it.

Just got to wire the speedo, wiper switch and dome light and finish those seats as well as take it to my step-brother for glass then it's inspection time. I want to go for a drive but it's gonna snow tomorrow:mad:. Warmer towards the weekend:D.
