got the hinges at a swap meet , BUT E bay and some hot rod shops/mail order/race car shops have them.

IT IS TIME TO GET TO THE RACE CAR[[[

by June 0ne it was to be a driver but the other projects took longer to finish than l anticipated, starting Tuesday we are hitting it hard & l have plans to get the thing done for summer.

a friend of mine has a paint booth we can use to get the thing out of the yard to get painted. the plan was to just paint her in the driveway, but this will make a much better finished product

my fiend with this street legal sprint car got 6 blocks into town & BAM, lights galore, then when he showed the paperwork to the guys, they called a few more cops in just to check it out because it was the coolest thing they seen for a while.

my 2 friends who have there cars are getting a bunch of sprint car chassis and going to build 3 or 4 more and one they just finished is tandem 2 seater.

seems to be a trend that started some years ago and is really catching on.

google street legal race, street legal dirt car or street legal circle track
and a bunch show up.

there is a guy in my local town that does PHANOMINAL work along these lines built a car for Brock Yates as a matter of fact.. street legal sprint cars and f 1 cars and vintage Indy cars are his thing From The Ground Up I might add... check it out... he's a super cool dude too

back to working on the street legal race car.

we started stitching the body together and removing stuff in the way. the rear cage will be reworked to fit the curve in the rear of the body better.

also moved the gas tank down a foot and a half to help the CG in the rear.

more mocking up, slow progress but still going foreward, l am going to keep the chrome around the windshield, rear window and modify it to fit back on the doors because l think it will look cleaner & save me a ton of mods to the body to get rid of the rough/sharp edges, might as well us it if l have it and make our life easier..

l gotta go do some other errands today so we will hit it again tomorrow. bright side is l get to take the 3OISH 'couse its 70+ degrees.

walking out to the shop to get the roof tacked in today so the body will be a onesie instead of a two piece[

it will be good to have it back together and then the doors can be fit.
