This weekend I played "Storage Wars". A local storage facility has an auction every so often for units that have not paid rent, and this is the second time I have gone. I ended up buying a unit for $ 475.00 because it had a 50cc ATV sitting in there and I saw the barrel of a rifle sticking up, so I figured there might be more good stuff in there.
The ATV looks pretty good but the rifle turned out to be an old Daisy Red Ryder BB gun.
I got a complete set of golf clubs and a few other things that may get me back my money, but it was a gamble and I knew it going in.
I had to rent a U Haul 17 foot truck and the worst part was cleaning out a 10 x 10 storage unit in 95 degree heat all day Saturday and part of Sunday.
I was fried when I got done. There were boxes and boxes of clothes, boxes of dolls and stuffed animals, and lots of furniture, all of which I didn't want, so I went to the local GoodWill drop off place and donated all of it. I felt good about that because the lady said donations are off and that until I pulled up they had no more stuff in the back room to put out on the floor. The truck was jammed to the hilt, so they should be able to make a few bucks on it.
So today I am sunburned and sore, but at least the weekend was not boring.
