Anyone ever used a camaro/trans am subframe in a 46 1/2 ton truck?

I'm wanting to change out the front axle on my 46 1.5 ton to a 1/2 ton axle. My question is, will a front axle from a 48-54 GM 1/2 ton fit in its place?

Bought a 61 impala with disc brake conversion on all four corners. Brakes work good for the first few miles. After about 4-5 miles of driving they start dragging and get tighter and tighter until it's a struggle to drive. Afro t and rear doing the same thing. Stop driving for about 45 minutes...

I like the look of some rust, but when is it too much? Going to look at a IH cab today and its rusted through the outside skin of the cab above the back glass. Pretty much all the way a cross. I think the inside of cab is solid, gotta see in person. Just want an opinion. Thanks[S

New to this site. Built a 50 GMC on an S10 chassis a few years ago and sold it like an idiot. Looking to build something else now. Just waiting on the right project to come along, maybe fenderless this time. Attached is a pic of my last ride a few days before I sold it.:D
