Hey,

My name is Igoris, i am from Lithuania. 22 years old. I love Rat Rod style cars, Rat style lead sled and some old rat looking blobbers.

I'm here because i want build my own Rat Rod and i think i will get some help from all of you. I know it takes me a lot of time and money, but after all, i will have my own build Rat Rod.

Greetz, Igoris.

I have idea and some drawings, but for me (i mean in Europe) it's hard to find or buy a '30 or '50 body and so on..

Awesome to have you join us Igoris. Are there any others that you know who share your interest in rats there? I for one would like to know as much as possible about what it is like where you live.

earthman, um, i know some who make stanced rust cars on VW Golf, but real Rat Rod? No, i guess it's just me who want build one.

What kind of cars and trucks are used in Lithuania? Do you have salvage yards
where bodies and parts are available? What are the laws about vehicle inspections and modified vehicles?

earthman, All cars are imported. A lot of VW, Audi, BMW and so on.. I know who sell American cars like Tahoe and so on, but price is very high. I want build at least something like this https://www.ridetech.com/gallery/files/1/13623A.jpg or lead sled but in rat rod style. I mean, parts available here is only imported cars from Europe, if i want build rat rod i need import car from USA.

My great grandfather is from Lithuania. He was a carpenter and stationmaster for the Czar's railroad at a small outpost who married a polish woman and moved to America. We still have his papers in Russian.
The rest of his family who did not leave were moved to Minsk and Belarus by the communists, there's is no knowledge of what became of them after that.
My grandfather was born here but his sister and 3 brothers who lived here were born in Lithuania
He had at least 6 other siblings who died of illness like scarlet fever or typhus etc. in their first year or two of life...life was no guaranty.
My grandfather had scarlet fever when he was late teens early 20's and said he never hurt so much in all his life. when he went through radiation and operations for lymphoma when he was about 54 he said scarlet fever was still worse than that.
He ended up living to 83 years old after the cancer. Lithuanians are tough people. He was not a large man but I never carried a coffin so heavy than when we laid him to rest.

Here's a czech ratrod i like... i have no idea what the song says but i like it

Welcome to the site
I like your attitude on sticking with what you like.
It will separate you from the rest, in Lithuania.
