it looks almost identical to a topoader accept a few details. from what ive read it has an od instead of 4th gear which is weaker than 4th in a real toploader. and i guess uses a different shifter

Today I bought a toploader imposter trans for 80 bucks. Inside looks like its been gone through and not used. I figured I cant be hurt too bad for 80 bucks. My question is, is there parts available now like a shifter. Ive read old threads that say you cant get parts but as toploaders get more...

I would search swap meets and cl for better factory heads to have rebuilt. You can almost buy sbc stuff at garage sales.

I agree. A lot cheaper to build too. I just rebuilt my 390 in my 74 f 250 and its pricey.

Looks like a Diamond T to me

I bought a double flare tool and 20 ft of brake line from O'rileys for 40 buck. They have the flexible stuff that is way easier to bend. you can bend it without a bender and it wont kink. Its amazing stuff. The tool comes with instructions. Its very simple after you practice on a few.

That dont sound like a bad problem to have. Nice rod
