    Discontinued Brake Shoes

If I could find a place here (Boise, ID) that could re-shoe for cheap (im sure 10 bucks is a little too cheap now days) then I would just replace brake components and use what I have as far as driveshaft. The front brakes are from the s10 and are discs so already i will have better stopping...

    Discontinued Brake Shoes

That's not bad. I have both drivelines (s10 and coronet) still and thought thats the route I may have to take.

    Discontinued Brake Shoes

could I just replace the part coming out of the transmission (yoke? not sure the nomenclature) and use the s10's driveshaft?

    Discontinued Brake Shoes

thanks for the quick reply. I was trying to look up relining them but figured I would check my options first. I have the rear axle from the s10 that I was going to put on and decided against because it would require a custom driveshaft being made, but it is starting to seem as though that would...

    Discontinued Brake Shoes

I am still working on my wife's '49 Coronet and am trying to locate parts before I put things back together. I can only find shoes from Andy Bernbaum and they are spendy. Ebay has some but they look used and I would rather have peace of mind knowing they will be good for a while. Anyone know if...

    Front clip help

@DMW I may end up doing the bottom and leaving the top alone. Judging by your responses it should be ok with just the sides, though not as strong as it could be. Looking at it, if I make the plates a little long and tie in more of the frame, then I think it should be pretty damn sturdy...

    Front clip help

I am welding an s10 front clip onto my 49 Coronet frame and want to ensure it will be strong enough. I slid part of the s10 frame into the coronet frame and have both sides welded up. I still need to do the top and bottom and clean everything up, but my question is this: Will gusseting the sides...

    Stock F1 Suspension

I have been considering swapping a stock f1 straight axle into a project, but have heard there is a lot of play/walking with that particular front end. Any truth to that? Any fixes for it? Its may be going into my 49 coronet which has an IFS but needs a lot of work. Would this stock suspension...

    Stolen Car in Canada

Yeah I had a guy try that cashier's check trick on craigslist a few years ago before it was a well known scheme. I didn't fall for that one for a second.

Punks !they will pay for this!

Sorry to hear about that, but I love when people get even with stupid people who have no regards for others. Down the road when they are driving, send someone to remove their valve stems. No damage done, and they probably wont know what happened. ;) I had someone break out my truck window on...

    Repairable?

The pinto is in great shape. A friend's uncle owned it when I bought it and the car seemed to be pretty sound when I got it. A friend has a 50 f1 with a M2 front underneath so I will have some guidance when doing this.

    Repairable?

I'm just trying to explore my options. This stupid NW snow storm is stalling progress. I was going to do some measurements on my pinto today, but that will have to wait. So I am leaning towards that (the pinto front) but am unsure what all it entails. I'm sure I could find some good threads on...

    Repairable?

I posted another question pertaining to this car and the area in question, however I want to know if this is repairable or if I'm going to have redo the entire front. The rusting crack is on the driver's side, and the coil is broken as well. I figured maybe it broke and cracked it, expediting...

    Side Jobs?

Delivering Pizzas = great idea. I love driving so I could handle this. Scrap Metal = great idea as well, haha. I worked in a recycling center for 4 years and still know a bunch of guys there. Its hard to get that stuff around here without the normal scrap haulers getting ****ed. I had a good...

    Side Jobs?

That is very interesting. I get on there on a decent basis, so maybe I will have to do that. I have a bunch of stuff lying around I could probably trade up for and such. How exactly do you manage to do it? Like can you give an example? Thanks!
