    Can I Spot Weld

I'm replacing the door bottoms on a 47 Ford PU. The outer panels I bought are made with a lap joint to the existing door panel, where the new sheet metal goes in behind the existing by about 1/2 inch. My question is , if I drill say 3/16 inch diameter holes an inch apart in the existing door...

    Trailer Springs

Has anyone used trailer springs on their project? I'm thinking about using them on my project rear axle as parallel leafs. Would use the double eyelet type. I can't see why there would be any issues . Any thoughts ?????

I think rat rods are really cool and get a bad rap by some. I have been a practicing mechanical engineer for over 30 years now and have seen a...

    Bobber Wheel Base

I'm building a bobber using a 47 Ford cab , suicide front etc . I set up the frame for a 120 inch wheel base but the rear end seems a little close to the cab. I can easily lengthen the rear frame now and was wondering about what others might be using for a wheel base.

    MIG Gas

This has probably been asked before , and if so I apologize. I have a Miller 135SP Mig welder. I've used it a lot on 1/16th and thicker carbon steel , but I want to do some patch panels and find the 035 flux-core wire too heavy. What would be the best gas and wire size to use for welding light...

I'm thinking about replacing them with tubular upper arms but need a dimension. On a set of tubular arms can someone tell me the dimension from a center...
