I found one but it is a 2 hour drive to get it. I also spoke with a guy here in Levering that say he might still have one SOMEWHERE . The one the guy was taking out for me ended up being a 65 which is different .

Got nothing done today . But I got several things started. I built a bracket to hold the bottom the steering column . Started to figure the brake lines and fuel lines . Also started the headlight mounts . They started out as 1/4 inch rod. I bent them in half twisted them seven times to the left Then welded 4 of them together heated them up and twisted them 1 time to the left . When done they look like they are inter twined.

Looking like good progress. I don't think you need that residual valve with your master cylinder above your wheels. I did that on my '48 and the brakes
wouldn't release completely. Took them out and the brakes are great. For what it's worth.

Good to know.

Little more done today. Had to make a parts run this morning. I put new wheel cylinders on the rear brakes and put all new parts on the front . I got more of the brake lines done. I would have finished them but my local hardware stir was out of 3/16th brake line in the coils.I also got the fuel line formed up but not mounted. Tomorrow I am going to pick up my steering box. It is a two hour drive there . I hope it is a good one the guy said it didn't have any play in the out put shaft . He said he would wait till I got there to pull it. I am taking a pitman arm ruler with me I don't want him beating it off. The truck is all torn apart again. Has any of you guys used chassis saver? If so how much will it take to do a frame including axles ?

I used chassis saver on my IB. Just the frame and I believe that I used a quart. Which easily covered it. I went with the satin gloss. You might get the frame and axles with just a quart.

I made it up to Manistique this morning . I got there at 9:00 AM. The guy pointed me to the back of a large field . I went back and looked for it . He came back a few minutes later with the yard truck and torches. He showed my which one he was talking about . I said wrong one . It was 4 wheel drive. He then said I have another one over here . Again 4 wheel drive,I have another one over here . This one was a 65 with twin I bean won't work. I thought my trip was for nothing. Then He said I have one more way over there. BINGO it was the right one. Now to remove it . He could not get to it with the yard truck & torches so he had to get the loader and move sone junk and a old chevy out of the way. Then he pulls it out of a mud hole and closer to the yard truck. Starts cutting the frame and runs out of propane . So he had to go get a 20 lbs. tank to get it cut off. All of this took about 1 1/2 hours in the rain .But in the end I ended up with a steering box that is in good shape for $50.00
