Hello, Your build has come along nicely.
I sent you a pic of what the sqaure body would look when you started this thread/build..looks like (a 29 A).
This is all built w/ exception of a 27 cowl , that was widened(note patch at gas hole. ) The bed is bolted to body. (bead rolled doors and bed sides,&tailgte) .. I wish the bed was alittle longer. I think ,I will raise the engine alittle, for more ground clearence..Here are some better pics. If you have peticular question ,let me know?

Hey, thanks for the photos. The bed I am using is from an early 50's Chevy. I know, I know, it's just not right. But, you can't beat free. My bed will be a little deeper than the one you have on yours. The bed on mine will be just shy of 48" long, and will go down as far as the bottom of the buckets body.

Yeah, I wish my bed was longer. My bed and body were all hand built..beadrolled doors. I just climb over and in.
You did well with using other parts. ,,creative.! Where you from?

Looks good. I am originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. What is the wheel base on your ride? Mine will wind up being just shy of 12' center to center of the wheels. I'm also interested in seeing a close up of the front end on your ride. Got any close ups of the front end?

The RPU is at my storage.(winter) Will try and get pics. If you klic on the pic, then click on again ,it will come up larger. Then clic on that pic in the right hand corner and clic on that little orange colored thingy.Larger still.
I believe I have the larger truck spring also. The shackles come off the outside of the bones.

Well, I got more done today on the bucket truck. Not quite rolling yet, but very close.

If you look at the first photo you can see how wide out my bones are . Can they be cut and moved toward the frame more, so I don't have a big ol chunk of iron out there to support the bones? Thanks

Great build thread. Thanks for taking us along. You can cut and bring those
bones into the frame. It will triangulate and keep the axle centered as well.
Liking the sbf for power.

Hey thanks, yes the engine was actually built for a race boat. Then the owners truck engine crapped out on him , so they pout it in his truck. It has right at 8500 miles on it and is sure to yank my head off in the bucket. I decided to put the spring back on top of the axle like Henry designed it in the first place.

Good thinking on the bed. Bigger IS better (and 'free' is hard to beat). Had an RPU with a 4' bed that I shortened up to look 'better', and about ruined the car. That bed was great--hauled coolers and lawn chairs and High School girls in it. I thought it was GREAT!, but the wife didn't think much of it.:p

Good project--lovin it!!

Gonna be fun... A T bucket is a rollin party!!

you decided to go w/ spring behind axle. ?
I had the wide spring/axle also, but my frame is wider, so my bones aren't as far away as yours'. If you notice the cowl was widened,(strip where the gas cap used to be.)for wide frame. body width is the same(straight back& more square) ,where your's widens toward the rear.& curves upward (like orig.) Your's looks much better and stylish. Can't wait to see your bed w/it.

I still haven't been able to measure the WB for ya. We got hit w/ the freezing rain. I can't get to it. Sorry.

Your build is coming along real nice.! Looking good.!!!!!!

My mission today was to get er rollin. Here she is. Just set the body on to get more ideas. I built my spring perch today . I included photos of it also. The bolts in the perch are temporary. I could not find any square U bolts to save my life.I have 9* of camber. Is this too much camber ?

Mock that bed up !! :) ..Looking good !. ...You're really getin on it.
I see you Did decide on the spring Above. With your spring perch , were you able to get 5*+ caster angle ? The chevy fenders really worked out nicely for body tub parts !![cl
got any rear susp. pics? Keep up he good work man ...

Chuckles, I wound up with 9* of caster. Thanks for all the replies. I did set the engine and tranny in this evening just to mock it up.

Well, I ran into a little snag today. It seems that my spring perches for the rear buggy spring are a little too close together. I'm going to have to cut them off, then weld them back on with a slight angle , so they won't interfere with my radius rods. Another day in the life of an ameture.
