I've seen a few that looked like that in the lifter galley when torn down....usually a motor using Quaker State oil...there aren't many fans of that brand around here! Granted if it wasn't changed regularly but even well kept motors look crappy inside compared to ones using other lubricants...sorry if there are any Quaker State fans!
You drove it before you welded the two together?[S
Cool video and a super fast build! I call engines that look like that Pennzoil motors lol. Keep it comin!
That's some funky looking crud.
great video, now that's a quick build to get to drive it already.
Keep hammering on it.
No... that'd be dangerous.... I haven't built the inner rocker fillers, but believe you me that body wasn't going anywhere. I'll post more once I get it all cleaned up. the body was fastened to the other and welds throughout, just nothing pretty.
Oh, OK. I saw your other thread on removing seam sealer and I thought you hadn't welded it together yet. I was wondering how the heck the body stayed in place!

I find driving projects more interesting. Get them working then keep improving the parts that bug 'ya. Much more iterative & interactive, especially from back here in the peanut gallery.
