Starting a new build. It's a 08 Hyosung Cruiser 650. I'm stripping the chrome, and cutting it up.
Plans are to create a cafe' racer rat.
I using part of my old Street Glide front fender to make a rear racer fender, stripped the bike of 50# already by taking off most of the chrome, rear fender and 2/3 of the exhaust cut away. I'm thinking of painting it flat olive green with twin tan racing stripes and matching the rims in tan.

fender

The stock fender was as long as the muffler. I agree that the new/old SG fender looks like it should have been on the bike from the factory. It makes the shape of the tank work now.
I'm trying how the convert the controls from forward to mid. I don't want to change the exhaust, so some creative mounting to keep the brake set up will have to be thought out.

Even without the exhaust, it looks like the crankcase is taking up all the room. Those pipes will look good wrapped, cause I think you'll want the heat insulation. :p

got some more done

Made some board track handlebars, painted up the tin (flat olive green and hot rod black). all that is left is turn signals and brake light. Ok maybe some grafix,.....hmmmmm (and no I ain't paintin a white star on it, thinkin' more in the line of a martini glass {shakin not stirred}).

I take it your gonna keep the forward controls? How's it sit like that? Like the paint, and no, I don't think you should paint a white star on it! White stenciled martini with a white circle around it maybe? :D

forward control

may live with the forward controls they don't feel too bad. Might mount a set of pegs midrange just for added foot positions. I don't like my feet strecthed out when I am hammering a bike into a curve fast I'll have to mess around with it.
