I really like that kind of custom car. When I see something like that at a car show,I just look and look and try to figure out , what is it,what did they do to it , what kind of other car parts are on it,what is homemade ect. Very nice job!
Thanks guys, nice to know some people get it.[cl
On a different note, I live on the Seneca river in central NY (Erie Canal) and grew up here being a river rat. As a kid I would see these cool finned car looking boats running around and then all the sudden they were gone.
They had to be somewhere so I started hunting. Look what fallowed me home the other day. After many hours cleaning over 30 years of grime/mold/mildew and just crap it is starting to look good.
Will be cool behind the 52 and I am thinking that I will just semigloss clear it like the car. Gotta build a very low trailer.[
Haven't tried to start it but it isn't froze up so maybe. I cleaned and pickled it tonight and took it off to start butchering the boat. I have to rip the inner floor out to recore it. I opened it up abit so it can dry out. I have to put it away for a bit, I need the shop back for a 37 Ford Club Cabeolet I am doing along with the 52 on the other side of that plastic curtain. The boat will have to wait.[P
A friend of mi e has o e of those that just floated into their yard during a flood. They probably won't ever do anything g with it. They said they would probably give it to me. Hmm.....[ddd
Thanks guys. I can't wait to get the "River Rat" behind the 52. That being said, the projects just keep stacking up and there isn't enough time in a day or shop big enough to have them all going at the same time.
Oh, I got that ugly ass windshield off and I promise it will never go back on at least as tall as it is now. LOL
Well I have done it again. I got another one. 58 or 59 Herters Flying Fish.
I also got the power for the Custom Craft now deemed "The River Rat" 115hp Merc 6 in a row. A little more than twice what they originally planned for it.
I am not just on boats as I am doing a 37 Ford Club Caberolet and a 57 Ford Fairlane 500 along with getting ready to start the 54 Bel Air full custom project. Very close to starting it and it will be outrageous.
Sorry about all the boat BS bet ya thought I was a lost cause.
The sun stated shinning around here and I have been working longs hours on a couple of projects for other people when it hit me[S. "I bust my ass so everyone else can have fun with there rides and I still don't have a driver myself and another summer is close"
So I shifted gears a bit and spent 1/2 the day on my 52 and the rest on work.
Guess what? I did it! The 52 went on its 1st cruze yesterday!!!
I am so happy with how it runs and drives, never ever expected it to be this nice the 1st time out. I pulled out of the garage about 2;30 and didn't come back till 11:30 last night. FINALLY
Now that's what I call a maiden voyage [cl
I know what you're saying about the OP's projects, same thing is happening here too. I've got a 68 Chevy short bed that I've got a LS waiting to be put in it and drive.
I bet you had a lot of lookers
