    Hot alternator

I am using a rebel wire harness on my t-bucket and decided to use a one wire alternator (basic gm one wire conversion). I noticed when i was cranking it the alternator was getting hot. Is this heat normal? I am running a 8 guage wire to the starter stud from the rear lug on the alternator...

ford ranger spindles on 52 axle

OK just re read all other posts. What I've done...is NOT use ranger spindles. I used 52 chevy spindles...just took them into the local machine shop and had them machined to accept the ranger hub. Apologies to those who posted earlier...this set up is not the same as the OP but accomplishes...

ford ranger spindles on 52 axle

52 chevy / 1990 ford ranger conversion That is exactly what I've done on my set up. Basically had 52 chevy spindles machined to have 1990 2WD ford ranger hub on them. Works great. This is a cheap way to convert to disk brake w/ use of the GM metric single piston caliper. SO those who say it...

    gm metric caliper conversion problems

Thanks for the replys Those are all good points. The front end I am using SS lines into a banjo then into the caliper. These are the "allstar" brand from Lanes. T junked the aluminum banjo bolts that came with them in favor of the OEM banjo bolt from GM. The rears are OEM rubber lines. I...

    gm metric caliper conversion problems

I am a first time builder and have manged to not kill myself or set my garage on fire...yet. I am building a what can only be called a rat custom t bucket. I've manged to build my own disk brake conversion in the front and then bought a kit to convert the rears using the same cheap-o metric...

    Rat custom grill

grill Here it is still in catalyzed primer while I work on getting it fit to the mounting brackets. I mounted Harley Davidson passing lights on the front axle that connect to the spindles with aluminum shifter rod linkage. This allows them to articulate and match the turn on the front wheels.

    Rat custom grill

Ok so I "may" have gone over board and made this stuff too nice. This is my 52 farmall "C" grill that I sectioned, shortened and then widened 4 1/2 inches to fit my radiator. It was a rusty mess when I got it from a implement auction over a year ago. Its going on the front of my t bucket...

    t bucket windshield / posts

I have been working on my t bucket that I bought as a pile of parts off and on for three years now. I am looking at building my own windshield...finally. I just bought the brackets from speedway and now need to ask a few questions. 1) can I use 1/2 inch angle iron welded at 45"s in the...

    T bucket front end

Hi guys! i've been building a t bucket for about two years now. I need to set up the front suspension and was wondering if there was any wisdom I can glean from you guys. Its a suicide perch w/ transverse spring. I am using a tube axle and hair pins. is it as simple as using a tape measure to...

    SBC question

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Everything automotive is a bit of a compromise in some way or another. I hate how it looks as well...but once I get it dialed in I dont have to worry about my wife calling me to tell the car is DOA in some parking lot somewhere. I very well may go to a...

    SBC question

I am building a T-bucket with a passe' SBC ( tounge in cheek ) and I was trying to get it running last night. The problem is it would kick but not do anything moe than stutter and die. My set up is: SBC w/ HEI distirbutor, cam, Victor racer JR intake, 4" carb spacer from Speedway, Holley 670...

    T's of RRR

Here is phone shot of the gril. I cut it into 4 sections and welded in 4 1/2 inches into the center portion so it would fit the radiator that I salvaged out of a fork lift.

    T's of RRR

The best of intentions... Here is mine when I moved it into my garage to "finish" it. That was two years ago. FYI...its still not done and the MRS is getting antsy to have the garage back....well that she REALLY wants to drive it. I'll get some updated photos tonight and put them on. I...

    Cars Without Titles

Exactly. It is infinately easier to buy a unit that already has a title, but if your pushed into a corner this is the easiest way to go. I kinda took the long way around in explaining that in my last post.
