I have always found other places to spend my $. Cars... parts, projects, never really wanted art that I would be stuck with for years, and years. I like looking at Tats, and the art work involved, but it is not for me.

I'm with Bonehead on this one. I have thought about getting one, but just can't bring myself to put the money into it.

addiction

i'm addicted to old cars, i'm addicted to tattoos. i got a lot of tattoos of some of my favorite band logos. i guess i'm a music nut, too. started about 15 years ago and haven't stopped yet. i will say each one carries a story with it. it's kind of like a photo album of memories on your skin for you to enjoy everyday. some are always underconstruction, just like our cars! this is my excuse.

More Tats...

The wolfs head, blue moon, and "A Touch of Gray" on my back was my first.
"A Touch of Gray" the Grateful Dead song, and I just liked the immage.
Wolves beneath are a family representation: myself and oldest daughter above,
my wife and youngest daughter below.

Right arm started with the Rat Fink. Oldest daughter and I got "matching" rats.
Mine is finished, hers is still in "coloring book" mode after all these years :( .
Tiki face, drawn free hand by Smiley, because I like tiki's and totum poles.
There are some tikis along the roads here in Russia done by the reindeer herders.
I refer to my 3 grand kids as my "garage monkeys", the "hear no, see no,
and speak no" monkeys are for them.
Race? hot rod, I just liked it. Old flash art from some where, altered to fit.
"Lil Lou", tribute to my wife "Debbie Lou".
Von Dutch flying eye, drawn free hand on skin, by Smiley. Von Dutch & Ed Roth.

Arm bands with gray wolves from the Wolf Protection Society logo.
Shoulder skull is from Grateful Dead art work, cyclops skull.
Amazes me how many people don't realize it is a cyclops.

Dragon skull on left forearm, just because I like it.
Saw the immage somewhere, had Smiley draw up this version with "smoke".

The tat that causes the most comment, usually, is a demented happy face on the bottom
of my right big toe (with pierced tounge sticking out) and the band around that toe.
Need to get it reworked now, it is "worn".
Just want one more laugh from someone when they tie "the tag" around my big toe. :p

And Tats all for now.... '22

Some nice ink here guys. I like the more colorful stuff myself. I didn't pay much attention to tatts when I lived in Alaska but when I moved back down on 2001 I started noticing what I thought were jailhouse tattooos. They used to really stand out because they were all black but that had turned into another trend which morphed into the tribal thing.

Only have 3 (for now). Got the dragon (1st one) at 44. Had been wanting to do it for over 20 yrs. The other 2 are my famly crest & the US & Scottish flags. These showcase my pride in my family heritage & my country. Next 2 will be portraits of my Mom & Dad.

Be carefull of that exposed skin if you weld much, leather sleeves aren't near as much of an inconvenience as skin cancer. especially with recent tatts becuase you now have holes to the inner layers of skin.

Re: Red...

The red head in your sleeve... is that Red by Tex Avery?

I am pretty sure it is.
I had looked at a lot of drawings, including Tex Avery's.
This immage I found painted on a metal table, on eBay,
with some pin striping.
Someone else bought the table, but I saved the immage.
My artist, Smiley ( yes, that is his real middle name :D), sketched it,
made a few small changes and the tattoo was added.
I wanted an acknowledgement to my wife without getting into the
"curse of the tattoo name" thing.... ;) '22
