I found someone local guy to me he's about 3 hours away but he has a bunch of the fiberglass trim pieces that this car is missing and the window that I need. So I think we're going to be making a trip back towards where the car came from to get some more parts

So, my wife hated the station wagon. We got it all cleaned out and I finished welding the frame. But she never clicked with it. So down the road it went. I traded the frame and running gear for a pair of 331 hemis. Then I bought a 46 Ford 2 door sedan. She approves of this one!!

I ordered a mustang two front clip for it, I have the 331 Chrysler New Yorker hemi and I picked up a 700R4 for it. I'll be making a trip to my buddies wrecking yard to pick up a disc brake 8.8 for the back. Going to keep the patina on it. Somebody has primered the fenders. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do with those. They might end up getting painted and accent color I don't know. I think I'm going to go kind of full custom with this one but leave it ready. Like shape door handles Frenched headlights Frenched tail lights. Stuff I've always wanted to do to a car but never done LOL.

I got extra fenders, doors, hoods and a new trunk floor( that's a little rusty)

Should be fun!

Your wife sounds like mine, not a fan of wagons but loves post war tudors!
Lincoln door push buttons from 46-48 cars are a traditional custom touch.
They look good low in the front with the back a tick higher to give it a little forward rake.

Watching this one ![P[P[P

Yep this will have a low stance with a little bit of rake. I'm excited about this one the wagon was going to be cool but this one's very classy I think

The wagon would have been cool, but this is way better.

Fbp, that's a great start!!!

Thanks guys. I am excited for this build. I have ordered the mustang 2 front suspension, the rear stuff to build the 4 link. I plan on ordering the adapter for the 700r to hook to the hemi.

My next dilemma is weather or not I sacrifice one of my fleet to keep this project moving at a good pace. I picked up that 71 ford highboy a few months back. I have ben working on it behind the scenes. New windshield, re did the seat( on the cheap!) Also painted some Ford steel wheels white and put on a new set of rubber on all 4 corners. I built mounts to run my snow plow on it. It's a great old truck and I really like it. But, the guy I got the hemis from made me an offer and I stand to make some decent money on the sale of the truck. He offered 7gs or 5 gs and his really solid 37 Dodge pickup. I have less than 2200 into the truck. That's including the purchase!! I know I will never find such a cool old truck in this shape again.

But if I do sell it, I can finish the engine build and getting the chassis rolling for the wife's ride

You won't hear me trying to convince you to reduce the size of your fleet. You can always make more money, but finding a truck like that again may not happen. My 2 cents. Worth even less.

That's kind of my take, but I also don't want to be building this car for years
