Carpet

On the tv car shows they show the installation of custom carpet into cars where the floor has been altered, but never explain the process. You usually see a guy with a steamer and a big plastic mallet beating on the carpet, is that how its molded to the new floor shape ? Is it a special kind of carpet you can do that with ?

I'm going to try and do my own carpet also. Never had much luck with doing it, I'd also like to see tackle a hexed shape tunnel, and other wierd shaped stuff you have on these builds.

I remember some one when I was a kid using bathroom carpet with the rubber backing it looked decent
