OK,,,with that said,,,,and don't beat me up on this,,,,just thinking out loud. This is just my 2 cents but I think if you cut off about half of that filler panel running along the bottom of the cab and then drop the bed an inch or so,,,, it might make a huge difference. Anybody want to photoshop it and see if it works?
 
I need to get working again on this..
I have a lot of parts, but it's TOO COLD!!
I don't like working outside when it's in the 40s..
It should warm up next week..

It looks pretty good with the bed dropped a bit..
The plan is to cut below the doors, and maybe
add some skirts to the bed that will start at about
6" long at the tail and taper to about the height
of the skirts below the door after they are trimmed
to help hide the suspension a bit..

I'll cut up some cardboard once I trim under the doors..

Next step is the steering column, wires, and fuel lines
so that I can jump in and fire it up :D
 
OK..

I was going to paint the headers black and wrap them, but I thought they looked pretty good raw, so I gave them a brushed look with some Scotch-Brite and then used VHT Header clear on them..
I'm not sure how long the finish will last, but it looks good right now :D

It's warmed up a bit, so I also did the plug wires, and started the fuel lines

No pics, but I went and cut a hole in the firewall and slid my steering column in place.. Looks like it's going to work :)
 
Today I got the steering column and gauges mounted, and ran some battery cables back to where the battery is getting mounted in the bed..
I'll have to get some pics of the column and dash Monday..

I also found the keys to the truck that I had lost over a month ago :eek:
 
Blue; It's lookin good. I got that VATS bypass module in the mail, you told me about. Thanks for the info. Just one more headache I don't have to worry about. :D:D
